BBR Success story: Ella Barwood BEING THE DAUGHTER OF BODIES BY RYAN’S FAVOURITE MUMMA MEANS THIS LUCKY

BEING THE DAUGHTER OF BODIES BY RYAN’S FAVOURITE MUMMA MEANS THIS LUCKY LADY IS THE RECIPIENT OF BOTH AN ABUNDANCE OF HUGS AND INSPIRATION IN HER VERY OWN HOME EVERY DAY. ELLA BARWOOD HAS RECENTLY FOLLOWED IN HER MUM ANISSA’S FOOTSTEPS AND JUMPED ABOARD THE BBR GAIN TRAIN. WE ARE ABSOLUTELY LOVING SELFIES OF FAMILY WORKOUTS ON OUR PRIVATE PAGE, AND ANISSA AND ELLA’S HUGE SMILES AND POST-SWEAT GLOWS MAKE US FEEL ALL WARM AND FUZZY INSIDE. WE INTERVIEWED ELLA ON HER SHORT TIME WITH US, THE MASSIVE RESULTS SHE’S CREATED FOR HERSELF AND HOW MANY EPIC HUGS SHE RECEIVES EVERY DAY (WE’RE NOT JEALOUS AT ALL… I’M NOT CRYING, YOU’RE CRYING). MEET ELLA!

What was your usual exercise regime, pre-COVID-19 times?

During school I participated in interschool sports, which meant I was always able to maintain a reasonable fitness level. However after graduating, I was introduced to clubbing, freedom and fun, which are very hard conditions to maintain an exercise routine in. So to be quite honest, during my first year at uni I wasn’t doing very much. The casual run here and there, maybe a 15-minute ab workout if I was feeling really “healthy”.

When the netball season swung around I trained on Tuesdays and games were Saturday. But of course, this was never enough and the season came to an end. I always had an excuse to not work on my fitness and that “I’ll start next week” mentality.

Pre-COVID was my turning point, I actually signed up for a gym. But unfortunately I was only able to go about four times before they all got shut down. This was a massive blow to my motivation when I had only just plucked up the courage to kick start my fitness journey. I wanted to get strong but didn’t have the tools or skills in order to do so.

Why did you decide to take on BBR’s online program?

Ryan’s program catered to the fact I had limited equipment at home. The 60-minute Zoom video (watch live or in your own time) also took the stress away from me having to come up with my own exercises. So, problem solved: I now had the tools and skills to get fit. Ryan took care of everything so I no longer had any excuses, I was ready!

But truthfully, I started BBR as I was generally unhappy. Especially growing up on social media, with constant comparisons I had pretty much lost all my confidence. I really wanted to gain back control so it could have a positive knock on effects in all aspects of my life (more motivated, happier, more organised).

What have you enjoyed most about the sessions?

Every day, no matter what’s gone on – bad day at work, fight with boyfriend, uni stress… despite it all I always feel like I’ve achieved something. My BBR session is a time where I can switch off and ONLY focus on me and my body. I am a big overthinker, when I start to get anxious my brain can work a million miles a minute so I easily feel overwhelmed. BBR really helps me cope with this, I can stop worrying about everything for 60-minutes of my day and it’s actually so relaxing.

What is it like working out with your mum?!

Crazy motivating! To see her lift such heavy weights makes me think – wait is she the teenager?! She has so much energy and constantly pushes me to work harder by just being beside me. I could not have done this without her, she’s pretty awesome.

How many hugs do you get every day from her and has she upped her hugs during isolation? We miss our Anissa hugs!

Ahaha, Honestly couldn’t tell you but all I know is it’s A LOT. If I had to guess upwards of 10 and that’s just the morning.

What have been the biggest changes you’ve experienced since taking on BBR?

Confidence, I have been so much happier in every aspect of my life!

Have you been surprised by your results?

Absolutely gobsmacked, I never thought I would see the day where there was definition in my stomach, but BBR has made that dream come true. Obviously it has been a process but I’m just shocked at how much stronger I am and how I’ve been able to convert fat into muscle.

Will you carry on with BBR after your experience or is it just situational that we have you with us?

YES. YES. YES. I can’t imagine my life without BBR and I’m so excited to get fitter and stronger! Also if your reading this and are considering starting your health journey BBR is the place to go. They provide you with sustainable (key word) workout regimes that actually work.
